Maltese Islands

Google Earth clearly shows the three islands that make up the Maltese Archipelago.  The largest island is Malta, the smallest is Comino and the third island is Gozo.

Saint Paul’s Bay

Saint Paul’s Bay (il-Bajjata ta’ San Pawl) on Malta, labeled #2 on the map, is the traditional site of Saint Paul’s landing. There are some very prominent researchers who believe that this is the actual site of the wreck.  James Smith published his original work the ‘Voyage and Shipwreck of Saint Paul’ in 1848, which is the best work ever written on this event, believed strongly that this bay was the site of the wreck.
